So today my friend asked me this
"Suppose You are operating a Trolley, then your brake fails. You keep going then you see 5 people on the track, but on the track next to it there is one person. You have the option to change tracks, will you change the track or keep going?"
I first said "I going to change the track, kill 1 instead of 5"
then she said "Most people will say the same" and told me to rethink my answer
So i thought about it
then it hit me
"Choice"
if I "choose" to change the lane and kill one person then someone can accuse me of
murder because it was my choice
If I stay on the course and kill 5 people then it would be less of a murder but people can still accuse me
in this situation I would be in lose lose situation
but If i choose to kill 1 instead of 5 then some people will see me as a hero
for keeping the casualties to the minimum
In the end, its all about perspective
this goes same for everything
especially in sports
With the Winter Olympics going on
I hear complaints about the judges every time
Saying that the Judges show bit of favoritism
But i am sure judges of Olympic or any other sporting events are being
as fair as possible
I guess in World Wide Events like the Olympics I guess judges tend to show
a bit of favoritism towards their own country and hosting country
but that is just our perspective
whether we think the judges are fair or not, it is our perspective
So what is the point?
In the end everything about our lives are about perspective
